Flow Management Devices
Fourth GenerationCompact Provers
We distribute Flow MD suppliers, the Worldwide Leading Brand in the Development of Compact Fitting Fitting Technology. We set the bar very high for the competition with our Fourth Generation Unidirectional Piston Prover.
Flow MD is the technological leader in Small Volume Provers (SVP).
Flow Management Devices is currently the Technology Leader in Design, Engineering and Manufacturing of Compact Volume Unidirectional Provers. It started operations in 2007, with the aim of «Improving Liquid Measurement Technologies». Flow MD’s Patented Design provides accurate and fast measurement with minimal product displaced. Designed to be easy to operate, with self-diagnosis and high durability seals, built from own PTFE blends.
The Secret of Success
Our unique and compact design uses pulse interpolation electronics, a patented transmission, a durable piston with carbon fiber bands, poppet valve and optical positioning sensors. Flow MD’s Small Volume Provers line incorporates Double Chronometry as specified in API 4.6 and meets the requirements of API 4.2 Direct Master Meter Proving.
With the recent launch of the 4th Generation Calibration technology, FMD has provers of 12 different sizes with flow ranges from 100 GPM to 24,500 GPM (142 BPH to 35,000 BPH) and a ratio of 1200:1
We have Stationary Provers as well as portable to be mounted on a trailer or trailer to make calibrations in the field.
Versatility and Reliability
We Take Care of Your Money and Reputation

More about Flow Management Devices
What is a Prover?
A prover is equipment with a «traceable known volume», designated to calibrate or «to prove» the accuracy and repeatability of a flow meter under operating conditions. The provers can be stationary (fixed) or portable and are used to calibrate and verify the accuracy and repeatability of both volumetric and mass meters. Provers are generally used in the hydrocarbon industry for custody transfer applications where accuracy is critical.
Applications
They can be used to calibrate the different types of meters, in the following applications:
- LACT UNITS OR MEASURING SKIDS
- TRUCKLOADS AND SHORE TANKS UNLOADERS
- FPSO (FLOATING STORAGE AND DISCHARGE UNITS)
- DUCTS
- REFINERIES
- PETROCHEMICAL PLANTS
- STORAGE TERMINALS
